Dr. Sejal Mehta founded Aadhar in 2024 to provide much needed mental health services to the underserved community. She believes that for a healthy mind you need a holistic approach and a supportive community and Aadhar’s mission is to provide that beacon of hope.

A triple board-certified psychiatric physician for the last 25 years,  she has been honored to work with children, adolescents, adults, and senior adults at multiple psychiatric facilities in DFW. She is also the president of Psychiatric Medical Associates in Plano, and the Medical Director at several facilities. She has been principal investigator for 75+ clinical pharmaceutical research trials.

Born and raised in Ahmedabad, India, Dr. Mehta moved to the United States in the early 1990s where she did her residency and fellowship in Psychiatry at the University of Kansas Medical Center, and where she went on to become board certified in child, adolescent, and adult psychiatry. She also holds an Executive MBA from Southern Methodist University and started her own medical practice. In 2015, she got board certification in Addiction Medicine.

Dr. Mehta has been actively involved in doing various presentations on ethics and wellness related topics. With Physician Health and Wellness Committee, Texas medical associations, she has participated on developing and publishing several Ethics CME courses. She has been awarded for giving most numbers of presentations (100+) across the state. She has been a member of Speakers bureau at TMA.
